Launching on Saturday, March 6th, Defence introduces the best flavours of Drum'n'Bass through the whole spectrum. Hosts Matic and Quadra introduce deep soundscapes, fresh ideas, innovative basslines, groovy vibes and rolling beats. As well as spinning the latest beats, Defence nods to all the old classics and mint releases of yesteryears, ensuring a versatile and an enjoyable ride in the world of Drum'n'Bass.

Defence is a newcomer to the drum'n'bass scene from Finland. The guys, Matti (Matic) and Mikko (Quadra) have been around in the local scene already for some years on their own, but sharing similar influences and interests in music as well as being good friends, it was natural to for them to have a go at writing tracks together. Thus, Defence was born.

Matti and Mikko are both originally hip hop heads, but after hearing tracks like "Horizons" and "Watermelon" nearly a decade ago, there's been no turning back. Since then people have been able to witness them rocking the crowd separately and together at parties around Finland. Both guys are know for their strict sense of style and tight mixing, as well as being diverse dj's covering different areas of drum'n'bass.

"From the cold comes the new Mesak on Harmönia. The Skweee evolves. With the opener Enter the Jargon you are entering the training of Mesak’s Skweee Space Program. You’re well introduced to the vocabulary of his mission. Where Randy Barracuda got more ruff Mesak is making it more into the deep. His tracks have this soothing kinda feel to it but its funky as hell and nodding is inevitably. Omega Jam states the mission’s take-off and pushes the record into orbit. Sliding into deepspace with Silversand is miraculous. You’re becoming part of the trip. Same with Passion Of The Geist. To stay in the metaphor we meet the sirens from Venus, on the record they are called the Virgins Of Bergen (no mistake about their mission!). The push on this track is strong, putting us onto the dancefloor, against our
will!!!

Sly Filmfestival (Sotchi Montage) takes you through a messy reverb and jam kinda soundflow. And then we meet a Normal Brain and pay Tribute to it with a very stumblin’ electro-funk craze. With B.
