Kartio
Every second Friday, mbar resident dj J.Kusti hosts a club that fills mbar atmosphere with minimal and deep house to techno sounds. According to J.Kusti, sound of Kartio (Cone) is a tangent of Cologne-Berlin-Detroit flavoured by his twists and turns. Kartio will feature Finnish top djs and at times live acts from Finland and abroad.

Valtimo Klubi
Valtimo is a monthly oasis for all deep electronic sound lovers featuring top notch live acts & resident dj Samuli Kemppi, who delivers you the sound of the underground Finland. Visitors so far include live and dj-sets from artists suchs as Marko Laine, Mono Junk, Juho Kahilainen, Tuomas Salmela, Jussi-Pekka Parikka, Kalle-M, Burdock, Rasmus Hedlund, etc... Music from trip hop to techno, jazz to house, rap to electro... Expect nothing but the best!

Samuli Kemppi, resident dj of Valtimo, is known around the world for his Sam & Gigi and A.M. Specialists releases on such labels as Ovum, Siesta, Aquarius & Frozen North just to name few. His own solo productions take listeners to deeper seas. Forthcoming 12\" \"Valtimo EP\" on Frozen North is a tribute to the staff and visitors of mbar. As a dj, he plays minimal, but funky as hell tracks without compromises!

Sääasema presents: Large Amount of Soul
Sääasema (Weather Station) presents perhaps the fastest night in mbar, Large Amount of Soul (LAOS) with djs Abraham, D-bex and JayEM. LAOS offers best drum n bass + jungle + breakbeat sounds from Finland! http://www.largeamountofsoul.net

Somethin’ Else

Club Somethin' Else started at mbar in September 2007. This club is known previously from their successful nights at Jazz Bar in Jyväskylä, Bossa in Helsinki, Intro in Kuopio, and Yo-Talo in Tampere. Resident dj Matti Nives plus guests serve jazzy, funky, and all around soulful nuggets to the mbar loyal on the first Friday of each month.

To describe the sound of Somethin' Else, one might as well go with the word "organic". The emphasis, however, is strictly on quality, so expect a record plate filled with leftfield anthems and the latest top cuts alike. If you need genres, check the boxes next to "dancefloor jazz", "latin", "funk", "soul", "afro", and "other". The last one is a fitting reminder that the unexpected should be expected as well…

BASSO LIVE

Every Saturday night at 10 PM mbar streams live on Basso Radio, 102,8 Mhz (http://www.basso.fi). Featured clubs are Valtimo, Kartio, Bassoradio presents: 20hz and Large Amount of Soul.

Sääasema
The longest running mbar club, Sääasema features favourite mbar djs playing sets suited for a social night out, styles ranging from breaks to funk, sometimes disco, italo and soul.

Xtra events are possible with separate marketing and grapevine efforts.

We offer special catered breakfasts for organizations or companies. We have a data projector + good net connections for presentations, a microphone and a PA system installed. Please reserve minimum 3 days in advance: -email- or call us.

- book and record launches
Daytime press conference with coffee? If the cultural \"item\" is in line with mbar profile and clientele, it is also possible to discuss organizing a launch party.

- shooting stars
During the day mbar has often been used as a site for shooting a take in a TV-series, a commercial or a promo video. The summer terrace is well suited also for live broadcasts, either radio or television. Terms vary depending on duration, type of programme, sales and so on. Please contact -email- if interested.
